The Waseda Farms Growing and Learning Lab has been a warm, sunny and welcoming location for students. This year, Sustainable Living Class is growing food for use in food labs. Students receiving Special Education Services are helping to mix soil mediums, fill watering cans, sweep and water the floor (this helps maintain humidity). The food service department purchases cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, swiss chard and kale leaves for use in school meals across the district. During a peak harvest week, students brought 27# of cucumbers into school food service, a RECORD!
