Welcome and thank you for taking the time to visit our website to learn more about some of the key fiscal issues and topics in our State and District. While the District has shared information about budget, finances, referendums, and much more on our website over the years and we plan to continue to do so, we decided to create a special webpage for local taxpayers after the 2025-27 Biennial State Budget was passed.
Our Board actually discussed various avenues for communicating with the public about fiscal information, taxes, and more, even before the 2025-27 State Budget was passed. We knew that if it was passed without increasing general school aid (which came up publicly very late in the budget process), this would mean that the State would cause local school districts to rely even more on local property taxes. There was an increase to special education reimbursement which is helpful and we’re told could be as much as $335,418. Unfortunately, a drop of $806,436 in general school aid still means a substantial drop in State funding.
This webpage is designed to house information for you–our local community members and taxpayers. Our vision for the new page was to have it up and running in late fall (specifically the November 19 school board meeting) so we could mention it in our board meetings, and various communications through our local media partners. Additionally, we wanted it to be up and functioning before property tax bill mailers went out.
If you have any questions about the resources shared on this page, or have ideas for additional resources that could be helpful for our residents and tax payers, please contact Superintendent Dan Tjernagel, Board President Mike Stephani, or other members of our administrative team or Board who you may know personally. Thank you for your partnership, ongoing support, and assistance. We appreciate it!
