"Math Is Not Just About Numbers and Equations; It’s About Learning and Understanding” by William Thurston

   My name is Jane Lewis, and I am so excited to be joining the Sturgeon Bay School District where I will be the 3-5 math interventionist and coach at Sunrise, helping to support both students, teachers, and families.  I have been teaching for almost thirty  years.

      I truly love mathematics and having a role in how students learn, grow, and problem solve. I have been passionate in my commitment to maximizing individual performance by creating an environment where all students can succeed. I also strive to grow diverse learners with an unwavering commitment to instilling a sense of self-worth among all students.  The mainstay of my role is in supporting teachers, students, and parents to help all students be successful in math.

• Originally from northern Wisconsin, Park Falls
• Undergrad from UW-Stevens Point: 1-9 Elementary Education with minor in mathematics
• Masters degrees from UW-Milwaukee: Curriculum and Instruction with Math Education Emphasis and a masters in Math Leadership
• Completing Math Specialist certificate through UW-Stout
• Live in Sturgeon Bay with my husband and our two dogs, Wrigley and Fenway
