Any athlete wishing to participate in a WIAA school sport must complete the following items to obtain a Permit to Practice. A Permit to Practice must be completed prior to the first day of practice for an athlete to be eligible for participation. Without a Permit to Practice, the athlete may attend practices and watch but can not actively participate in any portion of practices.
With the Athletic Director:
- Attend a Co-Curricular Code Meeting
- Review and read the 2024-2025 Co-Curricular Code
- The Co-Curricular Code needs to be read by the athlete and the parent/guardian
- Confirmation sign-off is completed in the Sportsware registration
- Athletic Fees and Payments
- All Category I sports have a participation fee of $25 for each sport per athlete to a maximum of $50 per student per year for a multi-sport athlete. In addition, the maximum any family will pay per year is $75. Meaning a student who plays three sports who has a sibling play two sports, would pay $75 per year to participate in SBHS Athletics.
- Online Payments: Payments must be made through a PowerSchool Parent Portal account online (not in the mobile app). In-person payments can be made in the Sturgeon Bay High School office. Click here for instructions on creating a PowerSchool Parent Portal account; instructions also appear on this page for making payments in the parent portal.
With the High School Office:
- Pay all outstanding school fines/fees (if not paid online)
- Serve any outstanding detentions
With the Athletic Trainer:
- Submit completed WIAA Sports Physical Form OR WIAA Alternate Year Card
- Confirm/Complete ImPACT Test - this is done every other year
- Confirm online SportsWare registration is complete with appropriate signatures on all forms
