Now that you have collected some information, decide which artist you want to invite to dinner. Once you have decided on an artist, you need to find one piece of artwork created by him/her which is located in the Milwaukee Art Museum, you need to find a picture or painting of the artist, and you need to find five interesting facts about the artist. Use the artist biography sheet to help you gather the correct information for your report. You must visit at least 2 websites outside of the Milwaukee Art Museum Site to finish gathering data.
You will use the collected information to create a paper-mache portrait of the artist, a plate in the style of the artist, and a typed biography of the artist.
Your job will be to present a 3-5 minute introduction to your classmates. Your introduction (presentation) should include biographical information about your artist, information about the artists' style (for example, did they paint, sculpt, draw, etc., is their artwork realistic or abstract, what was their subject matter), information about the artwork from the Milwaukee Art Museum, and information about why you invited them to the artist banquet.
When you are back in the art room, you will use the portrait you printed off as a reference for the paper-mache portrait. You will also use the images of the artists' artwork to create a plate in a similar style to the artwork.
